Climate change is an important problem that impacts all of us, yet it is so complex that it is hard to summarize in a convenient sound bite that is easy for the public to digest. In recent years it has also become political, since the fix impacts our energy use, which is the basis of our economy, and much is at stake. In your opinion, are humans causing global warming and what is your strongest argument for your opinion?
Making IPCC as the base, we can say that present climate change is mostly due to human impact. although there have come many volcanoes and earthquakes causing various climate change phenomenon. Pleistocene glaciation and interglacial periods all gesture towards it but there are some evidences presented by IPCC currently in this regards -
1. By 2100 AD, earth temperature will rise between 1 degree to 3.1 degree celsius. Within last 140 yrs till 2000, temperature increased between .3 and .6 degree celsius. In the 20th century alone (after industrial revolution and globalisation), this rise in temperature is .4 degree celsius and 20th century is the warmest century till now.
2. The warmest decades were 1910-45 (world war period) and 1976-2000 (globalisation period)
3. Year 1998 was the warmest year and 1990 was the warmest decade.
4. heat waves in Australia and Europe
Hence, seeing all this, one can say that global warming is due to human impact.
5. Rapid melting of ice and spread of infectious diseases in other than tropics.
