Do you consider computers and mobile devices to be harmful to your health? why or why not?   Would you change your electronic device usage or rearrange your computer work area to minimize your risk?   Why? or why not?   What modifications can you make?

Though technologies like computers and mobile devices have made our life easier in numerous ways but there are also hidden dangers of these devices. The excessive use of these things leads to health problem. Hence the answer to the question is Yes, I consider computers and mobile devices to be harmful to the health. The reason being that is mobile devices and computers emit electromagnetic field radiations (EMF radiations) which is toxic to cells of the body. Hence it can lead to both physical and mental health problems.

Yes I will change my electronic device usage or rearrange my computer work area to minimize the risk. This is because an incorrect posture can lead to cumulative trauma disorders and repetitive stress injuries which finally leads to life long health problems.

Some modifications that can be made to minimize health risk from these electronic devices are :

1. Select a chair that is comfortable to you and will support your back in a relaxed, upright position with a slight arch.

2. Use a document holder to hold the hard copy documents at eye-level.

3. In case you use the mobile device a lot, use a headset to avoid cradling the mobile phone on shoulders.

4. Modify in a way such that your monitor should be at your eye level right infront of your body.

5. To avoid glare, adjust lightning of the monitor screen or slightly tilt the monitor.

6. Use the mouse or keyboard that is designed to be correct ergonomically.

7. While sitting, keep your feet flat and upper legs parallel to the floor.
