One of the most important benefits of using technological devices for assessment is that it would save time and energy of the test takers because they could save travelling to the test centers. This would mean that travelling seems to be one of the most important disadvantages while going for a test since it’s timed. One could save the anxiety and fear of not reaching on time. Secondly, one would be able to take the technology assisted assessments without wasting paper or other stationeries. This would mean that when using a paper and pen exam, many papers would be used and it would cause many trees to be cut in order to make that amount of paper, thus it’s environment friendly. Thirdly, it would prevent people from copying from anything or anyone since the pages may not be minimized or closed while taking the test or there would be no other student available around them.

One of the most important disadvantages is that one needs to be computer savvy in terms of typing speed and navigating through the pages. If the student is not able to operate the system or type quickly, the student would lose their focus and would become stressful. Secondly, the internet speed would play a major role in terms of smooth running of the test and managing time. If there is poor network connection or problem in network connection one would be distressed. Finally, there are chances that one might get the help of others or check another device for the answers which cannot be monitored if it’s a test from home.
