Osama and Badr are roommates taking an EMBA class together this term. Their professor encourages collaboration on homework. Because Osama finds the assignments much easier than does Badr, Osama almost always ends up doing the work first, poring over the complex ethical problems before they meet. Badr then relies on Osama to explain the problems to him by showing Badr the approach and the homework Osama plans to hand in. Osama now feels that Badr is taking advantage of him. Should Osama demand that Badr do more of the work, even if it takes him twice as long? If Badr does not do his share of the homework, should Osama stop their joint homework, or even tell the professor that the way it worked out, Badr just copied Osama’s homework for each class?
business ethical class
After reading the above case, it has been mentioned that Osama has capability to complete the homework faster and early as compared to Badr. So, Osama completes the work and later explains to Badr how it is solved and then Badr copies it.
Now, osama is feeling that Badr is using him for completing his work. But it's also mentioned that Badr is working for meeting the needs of he and his brother Osama.
So, in such situation, Osama should try to complete the homework when Badr is free, and they should discuss and complete the homework together, so that Badr understands well and increase his knowledge.
If this is not possible as Badr works, then Osama should make Badr understand the work and let him try completing the homework himself after properly being explained.
This way, Badr would also do the work and can complete and understand his assignments
Therefore, Osama should help his brother as he is working hard for meeting their needs and at the same time enrolled for EMBA class.
Complaining to professor in negative terms is not a good step as it could demotivate Badr. One thing he can ask to professor is to give time to Badr so that he can understand the topics well and work properly on assignments.
