Predicting consumer taste with big data at GAP

What is your assessment of Product 3? How would you improve it?

Product 3.0 relied heavily on the analysis of customer purchase data. GAP 3.0 mostly relied on data analytics to predict rebuys, after products were designed and placed in stores, future orders of the same item were predicted, and the next orders of these items were placed based on the real-time sales. Product 3.0 was a combination of real-time predictions of sales and also spotting and incorporating the trends. I feel this would have been a great move if Peck had not fired creative directors and only relying on data to predict the future trend. The creative head could have helped to spot the latest, unique trend and this could be combined with the results of real-time data analysis to generate more profits. I would implement the Peck’s idea of data analytics and keep the creative heads as well to help the company to spot the new trends. I feel this move will increase the sales of GAP than just including real-time data analytics
