Fallacy is a concept where one uses invalid and faulty arguments to reason and most of the time these argument will seem to be valid and better but in reality they are not. Fallacy is present in all walks of life and the most happens in the mass media advertisements and political campaign. For example if an advertisement says that if only you hold a product at home you will be respected in the society, it presents a fallacy that persuades people who watch it to buy that products otherwise they would become outclasses and socially unacceptable people.
If a political campaign says that people who do not support whatever decision the government takes whether it is right or wrong, whether it discriminates people with its policies or not, betray their country, it uses a strong persuasive argument which is wrong or it causes more harm than benefit. Most people for the fear of not being branded as someone who do not support their country agrees with whatever decisions the government takes although they personally don’t like it.
Fallacies will lead and misguide one to make wrong choices in life by justifying their acts in a socially acceptable manner. It would bring a compulsion where the individual will consider all the possible effects the individual’s decision will bring on them in terms of family, society, economy etc. This will result in leading individuals to justify their actions because of their ego as they have already taken that decision to support or oppose the cause.
