Collective bargaining is a negotiation of wages and employment term by an organised body of employees (which normally called union).

The major element of collective bargaining are-

  1. Preparation- Choosing the right team to represent terms infront of employees and employer.
  2. Discussion- Parties meet and discuss on terms.
  3. Proposal- Possible outcome and terms are elaborated by both the parties.
  4. Bargaining- Both party bargain and try to come to an agreement.
  5. Agreement- Terms are meet and agreement is done on paper.

Union is an association of work man. Some, organization have union some don’t, presence of it depends on organization policy and operation procedure.

Organization which don’t have union will not be able to stay alive if the workman do have constant grievance which is not able to solved by the firm.

The process become contentious because both party want to get maximum benefit and don’t want to compromise. So, it is become a challenging work to make the both party happy.

It take time an lot of effort , in the mean time it can happen the employees stop working and firm suffer due to that.
