Why do you think that growing old is not the same experience for all categories of people? How does race, social class, and gender shape the aging process? (explain)!
One of the most important factors that plays an important role in growing old is the physical wear and tire. They go through lots of psychological changes because of the physical wear and tire. They will have less social interaction and become very inactive. People who have constructive hobbies and strong supportive system will survive through this stage and overcome the difficulties and others will struggle.
Fortunately nature compensates this issue by providing us with the loved ones who will be around us to help us physically and psychologically. There are two contrasting sides that is present in this world for one who grows old, a strong social security measures without anyone present to talk and spend time with and the second less social security measures but with strong familial bond where there would be children, grandchildren, relatives etc. There is a strong argument about growing old in a poor country where the medical facilities and financial back up to buy medical facilities are very less whereas in developed countries the strong social security system and advanced medical facilities that play a major supporting role.
