Solutions

Expert Solution

The main derivation of plastic is natural organic materials like cellulose, coal etc. The crude oil gets converted to polymer then it is made into plastic bottles by giving it the shape. The principal players in this plastic industry are producers, consumers, municipal and government agencies and waste treatment agencies. These players form a circle within itself. As we can see, the producers are mainly the fiber industry or the bottle industry from where the plastic bottles are produced and reach the consumers. After using the product it is discardes and gets collected by the waste management authorities. They recycle the bottles and again deposit them in the industry. Therefore it becomes a never ending cycle.

As a consumer one can put efforts to reduce the use of plastic and as well as plastic bottles. Some methods are that as a consumer one can avoid the use of plastic water bottles. Therefore another alternative of plastic bottles needs to come up as a substitiute good. Secondly, use of reusable grocery bag instead of plastic bags.

There are other cases of not using plastic commodities around the world. The reason behind it is that plastic lead to environmental pollution and hazardous diseases across the globe.
