Several gender differences were identified in the course. The controversy is over the causes of these observed differences. Based on specifc course material, what do believe to be the most important causal factors in gender differences?

Some of the prime causal factors in gender differences are as below :

• Biological Factors : Chromosomes and Genes play a great role in creating the gender based differences. Differences between typical male, female or a transgender has a deep connection with their genes and the way their common traits are synthesized. Intonation and pitch of voice, physical strength and physique formation are amongst other biological factors which create gender differences.
• Social Factors: We, as the society create a huge gap by bringing in the gender based roles to a boy or a girl. In many communities, a girl child is taught to take care of the house and serve the family while a boy is assigned with the chores outside the house. This brings forward to society based gender differences.
• Behavioural Factors : In patriarchal society, a male child is taught to be more dominant over the females while a girl child is taught to be obedient, tolerant and submissive in the society. This creates a behaviour based gender difference.
