Expert Solution

the crime rate is decreasing is last several years in united stated in 2008 the crime rate is 571.1 per 100,000 inhabitants and in 2018 the crime rate is  368.9 offences per 100,000 inhabitants. the reason is decreasing crime rate is the economic factor, More criminals are getting put in prison, More police are on the streets, Broken-windows policing, More permissive gun laws, People are using less cash and Technology is keeping people inside, not out committing crimes.

current Public perception is that crime is rising but the data and statistics show the opposite. the reason why they differ from reality is media reporting or poor quality urban spaces.

people in the United States tend to have a high fear of crime because of  risk perception, circulating representations of the risk of victimization and fear of crime in the United States has become a problem as serious as the crime itself and e fear of crime refers to the fear of being a victim of the crime as opposed to the actual probability of being a victim of the crime and the most important cause is media

southern United States have a higher homicide rate than other regions of the United States because of poverty a lot of the poorest places in America are in the rural South and poverty in southern One of the best predictors of homicide is economic stress
