Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP)

If an organization has 1000 of devices then to check all devices, one by one every day, are working properly or not is a hectic task.To ease these up,SNMP is used. SNMP isa an application layer protocol which uses UDP port number 161/162.SNMP is used to monitor the network faults and sometimes even used to configure remote devices. There are three components and they are SNMP manager,SNMP agent, management of Information Base.

Management of the internet is achieved through simple interaction between a manager and agent. The agent is used to keep the information in a database while the manager is used to access the values in the database.for example, a router which can be also called a mode that convey information stores the appropriate variables such as a number of packets received and forwarded while the manager can compare these variables to determine whether the router is congested or not. Sameway switches,PC and servers are also agents or else can be also called as modes to convey informations.

A computer training group would like to compare the effectiveness of two modes of training. The first mode of training is a short 20 minute interactive one-on-one tutorial with the participant and the second mode is a one hour video that the participant watches. A random sample of 100 people are invited to take part in the tutorial, which is followed by a test to measure competency at the tasks covered. The proportion of people that pass this test (to...
