Expert Solution

No, I don't think that having lottery games is a good thing as far as the overall society is concerned. There can be various psychological, legal, and ethical drawbacks in playing such games. the most likely effect of such games can be seen in early teenagers and early adults specifically boys who get fond of such games and try to relay on their luck. The chances of getting selected in a lottery game are remote and the result of one game cannot be used as a win for next as well. Such a game creates a negative impact on the mind of children when they come to know that gambling can be the easiest way to earn money. They do not know the likelihood of being selected, it's just they develop an interest in playing this game.

Many people cause harm or injury to others due to a conflict in the lottery system when they tend to lose. This conflict can sometimes lead to death or serious injury. It is a chance of luck and not hard work or skills that make people lazy and move them away from their real responsibilities and work. Thus, lottery and gambling-like games must not be allowed in society.
