Try to assess the degree of diversity that exists in your community. Community can be a loosely defined term, but for this think of it as the group of people you encounter and interact with on a regular basis. When thinking of diversity, remember to include the many different ways in which people can be different from one another, including race, ethnicity, culture, sexual orientation, physical challenges, and so on.
Overall, how diverse would you say your community is?
Are there organizations in your community that promote diversity? Are there organizations that work to raise the visibility and understanding of particular groups within your community?
answer-
I would assess that i live in a community or society where diversity is great and promoted by people and organization. Diversity is all about bring people from different backgrounds, make them feel part of community, support and respect them.
The one of the good examples are educational institution in my community like schools, colleges and universities where i find people from different race, color, gender, language, sexual orientation, disable etc. when i study in my community school, I had friends who are male and female, black, white, indians, Latinos, one disable student in wheelchair. I had teachers from different background. there are people who are Ga-y but supported by organizations. In corporate word, The companies like Google, microsoft, amazon etc values diversity for long time because they knew that diversity bring innovation, creativity and talent.
There are organizations like NGOs which promote disabled people to get more visibility because they are minorities but they also have talent. For example- disable girsl in wheelchair teach poor children, they have talent of handicraft to make paintings, sewing etc.
