• CLASS- Class in a culture refers to the financial
stability of the person, the way a person carries himself to adjust
in a certain similar cultural group, the apparels that a person
wear etc all come under class. There are various definitions which
define and relates class to the wealth and sophistication of a
person, class as far as the culture is concerned also means and
directs the way a person behaves in public or demonstrate himself
or herself in front of people and in public domain. Lastly the way
people talk to each other , the words they use and the tone that is
used also shows someone’s class.
• CASTE- As per the predefined logics relating to
ancient past, people belongs to various categories and this
classification is not voluntary that is a person does not choose
which class to belong, it is fine basis the caste his or her
parents belongs. To many, it defines the social class a person
belongs and it also indicates that what is the reputation of the
person in the market basis the caste to which he or she belongs.
There are many categories such as upper caste and lower caste etc
and everyone wishes to belong to upper caste so that he is more
respected in the society.
• ETHNICITY- there are various attributes using which
many people relate to each other age basis this they divide and
group them selves in categories, the ethnicity can be judged on the
basis of cultural beliefs, the language two people speak or even if
the ancestors are sane then also they are deemed to belong to a
certain common ethnic group. This creates a feeling of
belongingness as people starts identifying them selves basis the
ethnic groups which are grouped by using the language , dressing
sense, mentality, the culture they follow, the nation to which they
belong and hence it plays a major role in understanding
culture.
• PRESTIGE- The term relates to the reputation that one
has in the cultural domain, the amount of respect that an
individual gets whether by doing something or by just belonging to
a specific group of people. This plays a really important role in
understanding how a person is being treated in the market and
everyone gives immense amount of emphasis over prestige and a
continuous effort is made to improve the existing reputation. The
self esteem of a person increase many folds if he is treated as a
high prestige person and also to a certain extent people in various
cultural domains starts displaying that they are of higher
prestige.
