what are the consideration and the requirements of the environmental part that should be taken when designing a bridge over a river in regards to the feasibility study.
As I am required to write a feasibility study about the environmental when designing the bridge over a river connecting two residential areas.
Environmental aspects that should be taken care while constructing a bridge :
1. River water pollution:
There are very high chances of contamination of river water with the chemicals, materials used in construction and construction waste.
We should have to continuously monitor the river water and regulate the material flow otherwise serious health issues may arrive.
2 Loss aquatic life from river :
Because of the contamination due to construction a huge killing of fishes and other microorganisms, aquatic plants etc is possible.
3 River behaviour :
Bridges can alter the flow regimes of river thereby affects water velocity, depth, depositional patterns and channel morphology. Theses changes in turn may increase the risk of flooding and erosion.
4 Air Pollution:
It is a common type of risk and always need to be monitored in any type of construction project because of the usage of heavy machinery and equipments and vehicles.
5 Loss of agricultural land nearby river.
6 Public acceptability:
As this bridge going to connect two residential areas there may be a chance that people may or not find it suitable because it will cause a change in their habitat, livelihood and other construction problems as well like noise pollution, land acquisition etc
