   2. Turbulence
   3. Rossby Circulation.

Wind Power:

1. The use of wind energy to provide the mechanical power to the wind turbines so that electric energy is produced or generated is called as wind power.
2. Wind power is also used to feed power to a large number of mechanical equipments wich are used in various processes in a farm such as millers and pumps to pump out water from the wells.
3. Wind power is an excellent source of renewable and sustainable energy when compared to the use of fossil fuels.
4. Most of the wind turbines are installed in fields which are connected to electric power transmission network.

Roughness:

1. At a height of about 1 KM, the wind is hardly influenced by the surface of the earth. But at the lower layers of atmosphere, the speed of the wind and direction are greatly affected by the topography of the earth.
2. Mainly, the friction against the surface of the earth causes roughness in the wind.
3. The more the roughness of earth's surface, the more the wind will be slowed down. There are various roughness coefficients for various types of landscapes.

Turbulance:

1. Turbulence is an irregular motion of the wind resulting from eddies and vertical currents. Turbulence is associated with fronts, wind shear, thunderstorms, etc.
2. Turbulence is usually classed as light, moderate, severe or extreme.
3. Little or moderate turbulance are of little importance. But severe turbulance is pretty much harmful for the wind turbines.

Rossby Circulation:

1. Rossby waves or Rossby Circulation is a result of rotation of the palnet.
2. For this reason, they are also called as palnetary waves or planetary circulation.
3. They primarily occur as aresult of earth's geography. It helps to transfer heat from the tropical zones of the planet to the poles and cold air towards the tropical zone in order to keep atmosphere in balance.
4. The slow motion of these waves often results in fairly long, persistent weather patterns.
