Mrs Smith is 75 years old when she goes for her physical checkup. The doctor notices her height has went from 5’3” to 5’1” over the past few years. She reports she is lactose intolerant, cannot have dairy and does not like green vegetables. As the condition states the age of the client is 75 and a female most likely the client has attained her menopause too,she has a.reduction in her height which can be due to brittle bones or condition like osteoporosis
It can be considered that she is suffering from the condition of osteoprosis which ia caused due to CALCIUM deficiency as her calcium intake is low because of lactose intolerance,lack of green vegetables ,old age and height reduction
A DXA scan is dual energy xray absorptiometry helps the physician to rule out the bone density which can help to diagnose osteoporosis or bone fractures
The dietary modifications given to Mrs.Smith should consider the fact that she is lactose in tolerant
