name the respiratory system structure
The process of respiration includes inhaling oxygen and exhaling carbon dioxide. Both of this phenomenon occur through our nostrils. The oxygen which we inhale gets mixed with our blood making it oxygenated, which is further used by our cells to breakdown the nutrients in order to produce energy.
The structure of respiratory system includes Nose, Mouth, Larynx, Pharynx, Trachea, Lungs, Bronchi, Diaphragm.
Nose & Mouth- Nose & mouth is the main route for breathing. It cleans the air what we inhale. Air enters irespiratory system through nose or mouth.
Larynx- it is the area that connect the throat to the trachea.
Pharynx- it is the part of both digestive system as well as respiratory system. The main important function of pharynx is to warm the air before it reaches the lungs.
Trachea- It is a tube that extends from the larynx into the upper part of the chest and carries air to the lungs.
Lungs- The main function of lungs is the process of gas exchange that is called respiration.
Bronchi- it carries air between the trachea and lungs.
Diaphragm- it locates below the lungs. It is the major Muscle of respiration.
