Who do you think was a better president, JFK or LBJ? Explain please
JFK was definitely better
The greatness of John F Kennedy starts with his values, with his
bravery. Before his election as President, JFK had been educated in
Harvard, a Pacific World War Two Naval hero, a 3-term member of the
House of Representatives, and a 1/3 time senator.
JFK supported Civil Rights and ethnic integration. JFK submitted a
Civil Rights Bill to Congress, following developments in
Birmingham, Alabama. JFK's death and the ability of his successor,
Vice President Lyndon B Johnson to persuade led to the passing into
law of the Civil Rights Bill. Check out the Executive Order 10925
of JFK which requires government contractors to use affirmative
action when hiring.
JFK supported our efforts against Communism in the Cold War in Foreign Relations. While admitting the mistake of Cuba's ill-planned Bay of Pigs Invasion in 1961, his leadership and poise prevented a potential nuclear war between the US and the Soviet Union during the Cuban Missile Crisis in October 1962. In Berlin he spoke criticizing the Berlin Wall building. His administration founded the Peace Corps which inspired many Americans to serve and provide support to countries of the third world.
