Sources can be-

• Legitimate Power
• Expert power
• Referent Power
• Coercive Power
• Reward Power

1. Coercive Power

• Making someone forcibly to do something against their will
• The main objective of coercion is compliance

2. Reward Power

• It is achieved by delegating matters people do not wish to do to other people and to reward them for this
• This form of power is based on the idea that as a society we are more inclined to do things well when we are getting something in return for this

3. Legitimate Power

• ability to link certain feelings of obligation to the management
• e.g. Rewarding and punishing employees
• Most managers in organizations execute a certain degree of reward and punishment.

4. Referent Power

• The leader in this form of power is often seen as a role model.
• Their power is often treated with admiration or charm

2- Political behaviour

• Political behaviour refers to the behaviour of man in a social system that gives him shelter, protection in terms of power
• It is one pattern of behaviour which relates to increase, modify or protect power
• political behaviour extends far beyond governmental behaviour
• Political behaviour can put a man in an altogether supreme position

3- Developing political skills

• Political leaders always analyse their behaviour before they speak
• They should be influential in order to convince people
• They should know the networking skills
• They should be sincere towards their work
• They should be perceptive observers of others and of social situations
