2) In the context of International political theory,Liberal school emerged in reaction to the views proposed by realists who held international relations is nothing but continuous struggle for power. Main objective of liberals was to maintain peace. There are different schools with in Liberalism,out of which is Liberal institutionalism.

---> Main proponents of liberal institutionalism are Woodrow Wilson and Joseph Nye. They believe in international institutions to maintain common authority instead of anarchy in international politics. They he!d that these institutions provide platform for dialogue , regular interactions, communications, which can help in overcoming trust deficit.they also held that when countries make commitments at international level,there is a pressure of world openion and hence there will be less chances of detection.

----> However,they were criticized by reaslist as well as scholars of english school. According to english school, international organisations brought only some level of order and international politics still looks like anarchical. Realists held that even when international organisations exist, collective security exist and nations continue to acquire arms.it shows limited faith in international institutions.
