The last country in the world to become civilized is America. American society was a white dominated society, especially, European white dominated society where people from other races were treated like slaves till the beginning of twentieth century. The majority white Americans were so selfish that they used African Americans, Native Americans and people from other countries to build the nation but rejected to accept them as equals. People were discriminated in politics, education, owning property etc.

Color blindness is a term which states a racial ideology where people come out of their discriminatory mind-sets on color, race, ethnicity, culture etc. and treat them equally. American society is still a racial and discriminatory society where people from other races, countries and colors are used to fulfill the perfect American society in different fields but they won’t have any rights in the country and they won’t be able to live as a normal person. Today with the advent of technology and education, people have the opportunity to learn more about other people thus the racial discrimination is least with this generation.

Government needs to ensure that enough awareness is given to children in the schools and colleges regarding color blindness where people treat others well without any prejudice or discrimination. For older generation, it would be too late to educate them but strict laws should be in place to keep them checked. Government should ensure that it provides equal opportunity to all its citizens.

Parents should educate their children regarding various discriminations by telling their children that they should treat others not based on their color, race etc. instead for their humanness. They should also tell them that all human beings are equals.

Mass media should encourage racial tolerance and show case success stories of people of all the races. This way, they could make sure that everyone has talent and there is no such thing as racial superiority.
