Who experiences food insecurity during COVID-19? How has COVID-19 impacted those already facing food insecurity and those who are just now experiencing food insecurity? What health disparities have been exacerbated by COVID-19? What are the barriers to receiving resources during this time and how can they be best addressed? What are some ways food insecure people struggled to prepare for the pandemic (i.e. panic buying, increase of Clorox, etc.).
Food insecurity has been experienced by many people across the world due to the onset of COVID 19 as many people lost their jobs or saw paycuts and cannot have access to resources to due countries going into lockdown . Poverty has hit many partsof the world where even the people leading comfortable life till then had to struggle for availability of food and resources. These people are more prone to cathching the virus as they became weak due to low food intake and hence are more hit than people who have adequate availability of resources. This gave raise to health disparities like these groups becoming sick and dying even without cathing the virus. All of this is caused due to the imbalance in life we live in this world where some have more than sufficient resources while some do not even have minimum amount of resources. In order to make things better in future we need to bring in strategies to make food available to everyone like minimising the costs, providing everyone with jobs etc., so that people would never have to face these situations in future. As this is a sudden and unexpected problem faced by the world even governments are not prepared to face it and so are the people.
