The example of successfully facilitating the resolution of an employee relations issue in a timely and equitable manner is given below:
The employees at DD Pvt. Ltd. who were into manufacturing of hinges and screws for automobiles were concerned of their safety issues as they thought they were not being provided with the safety gears they require in a setup where steel hinges and screws were made.
The management from its side believed that the employees are provided with enough safety gears to work and they were not thinking about it.
The management always wanted to promote safety in the workplace but they were not informed about lack of safety equipment.
One day the employees stopped working and demanded a meeting with the HR to highlight their concerns, the HR promptly visited the employees and listened to them, it was found the employees believed that the safety equipment they were provided with have become old and they thought it is not effective as it should be.
The message was communicated to management; the safety experts were called instantly to assess the need of new safety gears.
It was found that only a few safety gloves were out dated and the management promised to change it instantly and the issue was resolved.
A new policy was made that the safety equipment will be continuously checked to see their effectiveness and if any replacement is required will be done instantly.
