Literacy lesson : Story reading

Story reading usually develops the language and literature of the student. Firstly, storybook reading in classroom creates the fun environment and interests the students. Secondly, it improves the creative thinking ability of the students as they try to related to the characters present in the story.

Pre reading strategies :

Making a billboard images or pictures to grab the attention of the students.

Writing a random sentences and vocabulary from the story on the board

During reading strategies :

Create a dramatic monologue to interest the students.

Asking students to predict what will happen next.

Keeping the story ending, open ended for the students.

Post reading strategies :

Asking the students to brainstorm and lessons learned from the story.

Asking to predict the end of the story as it was kept open ended.

Making them find the rhyming words and vocabulary from the story.
