Apple has been in light for failing to protect the Chinese
workers in their manufacturing facilities. And sting operation was
carried out by an Undercover BBC panorama investigator. This is
specific investigation provided and information of the worst
working conditions for chinese workers. Everything from ID cards,
dormitory, juvenile workers as well as work meeting are breached in
these specific manufacturing plants. Bad conditions of the specific
manufacturing plants for sale on and overtime sleeping at the
production line was also presented in the specific sting
operation.
Apple does not directly contacted any of the media houses but they
released and statement of showing the dedication towards the
working conditions improvement for their workers. Decide that work
with the suppliers to address the shortfalls and to see the
continuous and significant improvement. Apple also send by
defending the sleeping of the workers during the job time was a
common practice.
Foxconn is one of the biggest suppliers for apple and in China 14
of the employees of foxconn killed themselves for not being treated
properly inside an organisation. After these killings Apple
released a new guideline of the standards for there factory workers
and moved some of the workers from the inside factories to the
outskirts of Shanghai. This specific code of conduct wasn't able to
stop the unethical practices done by apples manufacturing
facilities in China. Workers are forced to attend unpaid meetings
even after there schedule work hours.
Just like the conditions in China apple's other manufacturing
facilities in Indonesia is also very exploiting for their workers
and Apple is totally unaware of the conditions as they doesn't even
care about there worker's conditions. Extremely dangerous mining
conditions and the child labour is one of the major problems from
the specific manufacturing facilities.
As per the report Apple still does not very involved in correcting
the situations which is totally unethical and Apple has been filled
in protecting the Chinese workers.
