The world today is changing and HR will have challenges relating to technology. Discuss your opinion on having all classes online and not face-to-face from a student standpoint. Should COVID-19 shutdown encourage mote eLearning and fully MBA online degrees? How would HR handle these issues with faculty and staff?
First part:
Having all classes online are not feasible to learn entire concepts and cover-up the syllabus of subjects. The students need to arrange and set up different things at their homes like high-speed internet connectivity, computers, headphones, and required a silent environment to conduct online classes. On face-to-face interaction in classes, a student gets the opportunity to discuss many things related to course material, but online classes are limited. A student may not learn the entire subject material from online classes as the time duration is lesser and chances to ask for doubts are limited. Hence, online classes are not that beneficial for students as the learning opportunities are not full, and having all the classes may not deliver the entire topics of the respective subjects.
Second part:
Yes, due to the COVID-19 shutdown and for the pandemic situation, it has encouraged the educational process to conduct through online mode. There remain no other alternative ways as wasting a year may produce negative results on their career. To avoid such losses, it has been enforced to conduct e-learning activities to make students engaged with the studies. In addition, degrees like full MBA courses can be conducted by online mode. MBA is such a degree that students and professionals require for better employment purposes. Therefore, in this pandemic situation, waiting to recover may not bring effective results, and adopting the e-learning process to conduct MBA degrees is quite beneficial in different future perspectives.
Third part:
To handle issues, an HR needs to design work guidelines and strategies to collaborate with faculty and staff for better facilitating the e-learning process with the students. HR should instruct the faculties to make routines and make students informed about the timings of classes to be conducted. The staffs are likely necessary to keep active coordination with the students on getting the process of online classes and admission related matters through such modes. HR should prepare guidelines for the staff and faculties to make the online processes. It will strengthen online teaching activities effectively and an HR should ensure the occurrence of the effective outcome from such process-driven methodologies.
