1. Setting up the objectives
Setting up the objectives that what they are going to do is the
best thing about how the orientation should be planned and how the
induction should be planned, about the breaks, training procedure
should be planned and new employees shouldn’t feel alone. So
setting up of objective is the major thing that should be done
first
2. Unclear job expectations, turnover rate
will increase
If the employee will have unclear expectations it will lead to an
increase in the employee turnover ratio because employees want that
the expectation should be clear to them so that they can focus well
on that.
3. Job safety requirements, insurance,
retirement, employer-provided
Services, names, and titles of the key executives
According to me, orientation is the formal process as compared to
the induction so these are the things that should be taken care of
in the orientation and the socialization part should be done in the
induction because that is the informal part.
4. Hasn’t received information before the
orientation, no socialization
The mistakes made during the Rebecca onboarding is that she never
received the information before the orientation which makes her
alone and no socialization was done ever so it took a month to
understand the things and being comfortable
5. Yes
I think adding socialization is one of the best ways they can
motivate the new joiners and also it can reward the new joiners for
demonstrating valued organization norms.
