Accidents do not happen… they are caused.

If we can find the causes of accidents ,we will know how to avoid automobile accidents.

The Primary reasons for automobile accidents are:

• Condition of the road and traffic
• Condition of the automobile
• Condition of the driver
• Care taken by the driver

Condition of the road and traffic:

Drive more carefully and at lower speed when there is heavy traffic. Also drive at slow speed when there is water on the road due to rain or melting of snow. If the road is wet, there is risk of skidding. Avoid driving during night when visibility is low . Take special care while driving through fogs.

Avoid driving when there is flood or heavy rain

Condition of the automobile :

Perform maintenance of the car regularly. Check the tire condition, engine condition, brake and engine oils , engine coolant etc at regular intervals. Check tire pressure regularly.

Condition of the driver:

Do not drive if you are feeling tired or sleepy. Many accidents happened because the driver slept for a second.

As a rule ,do not drive if you are unwell. Also do not drive if you have taken alcohol.

Care taken by the driver:

Driving speed should be based on four factors: Traffic condition, road condition, car condition and the physical condition of the driver. Follow the speed limits.

Keep hands on steering wheel. Do not use mobile while driving. Avoid all distractions.Watch for kids. Scan road ahead .

Be careful while taking turn or backing the vehicle. Keep distance from vehicle in the front.

Always wear your safety belt .
