Explain how you will appraise and manage the employee's performance.
Performance appraisal is also defined as review for performance of the employees is the method by which performance of the employee is documented and evaluated.Appraisal are part of the career development and it has regular reviews of employees and their performance within organisations.
While doing appraisal an employer or the concerned HR/Manager need to considered the following things
Appriasal and performance can be done via Self Appraisal, employee initiated appraisal,360 degree feedback.
Employee initiated system the employees can ask review from their manager and manager will evaluate based on their performance, client feedback, how they interact within and across team members, other initiatives , learning graph etc. In 360 degree system, the employees review will be taken and ranked based on the opinion from manager, different people or departments an employee how they interacts with (peer evaluation), external customers, and the employee himself. This type of complete feedback also includes employee-generated feedback which is purely based on management performance (also known as upward appraisals).
Small companies follow peer group evaluation and rank them based on rating of 1 to 5 ( like exceeded expectation, met expectation and below expectation need improvement etc.) Big companies follows bell curve where the both extrmities will be having peculiar features ( right tail is exceptional and outstanding contributors and left tail is below expectation.). Based on that they provide appraisal in the form of incentives, promotions, other benefits etc.
