There are many environmental problems like global warming, acid rain, air pollution, ozone layer depletion, water pollution that leads to the climatic change which causes harm to living hood.
Global warming and causes: Global warming is a climatic change and the phenomena of gradual increase in the temperature of earth’s surface. This cycle has been observed over the past centuries and as a result it has disturbed the climatic pattern of the earth. However, many scientists have provided the relevant data that support the fact says temperature of the earth is rising constantly.
Deforestation:
Deforestation is the main reason for global warming as plants are the main source of oxygen they in take in carbon dioxide and release oxygen that result in maintaining environmental balance. Many forests are being depleted for human domestic use and commercial purposes and has led to an environmental imbalance that causes global warming.
Air pollution:
Many industries release harmful chemical gases into the air so that the temperature of the earth can be increase rapidly, harmful emissions from the factories add rise in temperature of the earth. Another main issue is use of vehicles for very short distances that results in various gaseous emissions like carbon monoxide. Vehicles that burn fossil fuels emit a large amount of carbon dioxide and other toxins gases into the atmosphere that result in temperature increase in atmosphere
Ozone layer depletion:
The ozone layer is very important layer that protects us from direct sunrays which contain harmful ultraviolet rays. Ozone is made up of three oxygen atoms. They form as a shield to our planet that protects us from harmful solar radiation; the ozone layer can be seen in the stratosphere where 90% of the ozone can be found. Ozone can absorbs most energetic wavelengths of ultraviolet light like UV-C and UV-B that harmful to living things. Chemicals containing chlorine and bromine atoms are released to the atmosphere through human activities. The chemicals that are released from vehicles and industries combine with weather conditions and cause reactions in the ozone layer that leads to ozone layer depletion. Ozone layer depletion occurs globally, the ozone layer over the Antarctic is often called as the ozone hole.
The Montreal Protocol is the international agreement for the problem of ozone destruction, this agreement was signed by more than 70 countries in year 1986 and has set goals of reducing of CFC production. Since the agreement was signed by the countries these targets have been more strengthened and have resulted for the elimination of the dangerous chemicals.
