Have you ever used a social network for work-related reasons? If so, describe your experience and whether you feel your use of social networking improved your effectiveness in reaching organizational goals. (If you have never used a social network for work, describe one or two possible benefits of social networking in a management setting.
Yes, One of the times I used social media for work-related reasons was when I worked as a stockbroker in my previous organization. The organization was short of clients trading in the equity and commodity market. We needed more clients to ensure stable revenue for the organization and in a team meeting we came up with an idea to launch a campaign on some of the top social media applications to garner new clients.
We ran three different campaigns with a monthly offer for every new client that signed up. The campaign focussed on giving zero brokerage deals to customers that were signing up. The result of the campaign was successful as we got 30% more clients to sign up for the new deal on the advertisements on social media. Therefore, social media did have a positive outcome and also a wider reach of clients as we could target clients from across the country using this approach. The revenues improved for the company that month.
