Imagine the CEO of a software house asks you to make a system
that automates the SDLC
process. Based on the initial requirements, you were successfully
able to make a prototype that
captures almost 40$-50% functionalities. You presented the demo to
the CEO and now CEO is very
impressed with the work. The CEO has ordered you to add some new
features in the prototype and
release the product as soon as possible. Being the lead developer
of the project, do you think this is a
good idea? If yes, provide your reason? If no, write a reasoning
report for the CEO to explain why it is
not a good idea to add more features in the prototype and put it in
the release.
In this case study, it is better not to add any more features on it because if you add the more features on this particular program it may disturb the existing one and your team should again work the same project for more enhancements and correct the errors. As the CEO ordered to release the product as soon as possible, if we add more features it takes more time the product launch will be delayed. So as this product has all the features and only a few and which are not required are not there. So, its a waste of time to add new features to this product.
REPORT LETTER
Dear CEO,
It's important to have a CEO who is fully committed to the success of your business and improving business practices among employees. I will help your company exceed expectations. As you said to add more features to the product I think it is not really a good idea because if add new features to it may affect the existing ones which takes more time to resolve all the errors and the lead team should again work on the errors rather than to create a new product. I request you to decide once again and update me to launch the product or not i.e to add new features. Thank you for your time.
Sincerely,
Employee
