What is the relationship between photons of increasing wavelenght and frequency?
What is the relationship between photons of increasing frequency and energy?
wha is the relatioshi between photons of increasin energy and wavelength?
Well one relationship is that frequency F and wavelength L are properties of photons. A photon's energy E = hF = hc/L; where h is a constant and c is light speed.
Energy and frequency are directly related (E=h?) so
red end of the spectrum is lower energy and the violet end higher
energy.
Frequency and and wavelength are inversely related (?=c/?)
making
red the longer and violet the shorter wavelength.
The amount of energy is inversely related to the wavelength of
the radiation: the shorter the wavelength, the greater the energy
of each photon.
This was originally discovered by Max Planck who identified a
co-effiecient of proportionality that related a photon's energy to
its frequency. This co-effiecient is known as the Planck constant
and allows the energy of a photon to be found using the following
relation (known as the Planck relation or the Planck-Einstein
equation):
E = hv (Eq. 1)
Where:
E = Energy (J)
h = Planck constant (6.62606896
