One of the disabilities is being handicapped so that the person is unable to walk and uses a wheelchair for moving from one place to the other. There are many disadvantages faced by people who are physically handicapped and although there is a general sense of acknowledgement from the public but still their issues are not given enough weightage. Current public policies also do help them as every new public construction is done in such a manner that the transportation related needs of the handicapped people are kept in mind so as to provide them with a better overall experience of the site. This is how one of the major disadvantages that handicapped people face is solved by the use of public policies. Additional public policies that are needed would be to arrange a special arrangement or a public lane where disadvantaged people can comfortably commute at the speeds that they are comfortable with.
