In one paragraph, describe a fad that has come and gone during your lifetime. Did you take part in the fad? Why or why not? How long did it last? Why do you think it faded?

A fad that has come and gone pretty quickly is of playing 'Pokemon Go'. This is one of the fads that has came and gone within my lifetime. At one point, it seemed like everyone in the country was doing just one thing and that was collecting Pokemons. I would have to admit that at some point I was also enjoying it. That was perhaps because of the popularity of the app and being the odd one out who does not play that game was not desirable for me at that point of time. It is common observations that fads do not last too long in the internet age and it was the same with Pokemon Go. The usage peaked for a couple of months and the overall significant usage for the app was probably just for a year. It faded out because people eventually got bored of it and there were some privacy and safety concerns related to the application.
