Leadership is defined as the ability to influence people toward the attainment of goals. Leadership is reciprocal, occurring among people. It is dynamic and involves the use of power to get things done.

Leadership and motivation are directly related because leaders are people who motivates team members to work hard. There are certain factors like money, recognition, power, support, favorable environment and promotion that can be motivational aspects of some of the employees. The role of a leader is to select the appropriate motivational factor for the perfect candidate. People are motivated by the completion of their needs, wants, and desires. They want their needs to be fulfilled by hook or by crook. Some people do your utmost; they struggle and they strive for more to make them satisfy by themselves, whereas others just want to complete relaxation. They want people to work for them and to satisfy them. Philosophers and theorists presented several theories that are related to human psychological demands, basic needs, motivation and satisfaction of employees. Out of all those theories, the basic one is Abraham Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs.

Leadership can be seen as the process of effective communication which motivates the others to perform some specific actions which strive towards the accomplishment of common goals and objectives. Leaders are mostly the communication champions who have the power to unite and inspire their followers to come around the common sense of objective and identity. They have the ability to take the conversation upon such a level that followers break the boundaries and start focusing on the vision, common objectives, policies and the various values which can really help the entire society to accomplish the common goals and objectives.

There is a very thin line in the definition of great managers and great leaders. For a great manager, it is very important for them to have the better understandings of the unique abilities and even the eccentricities of their employees, and they also have the best strategy to combine these two aspects in a more coordinated plan of action.

This can be seen as exactly opposite to what great leaders do. The universal factors are identified by the leaders and then they utilize on it. The main focus of leaders remains on making the followers lead towards a good life and prospers future. This can only be accomplished when the leaders do not discriminate their followers on the basis of race, sex, age, nationality, and personality, utilizing various success stories and celebrating various heroes and capitalize the common requirements of all of us.

It is very important for a manager to be a role model in the workplace. First of all, he must have a decent performance, cosmic and proportionate to his position and to his responsibilities. According to his behavior, he must always try to remain impartial, not to favor or be unfair to anyone, to behave to all his team members with equality and to try to devote time to them and listen to their problems, concerns or ideas. He always has to be calmed, kind and helps his team. Finally, he should try to motivate and lead his team steadily towards to success. A team leader or a manager must be and do all these things because employees observe them and they imitate them
