I had an interaction with a sample population in my community very recently. The interaction was in the form of awareness with respect to increasing cardiovascular disorders in our community. I explained to them in the form of a presentation in the simplest way possible regarding likely etiology, prognosis and effective management. Following this presentation, I was able to recieve different types of feedback from people. I was able to understand that the main reason which most of the people pointed out in not being able to change their health related habit and putting their body to the risk of CVS disorders was their income or economy. It was pointed out all foods that are good for hear are costly in the market while those bad for heart are cheaply available and tasty. This information caught my attention as they were completely different from what I had expected from them.. The same presentation when given to an elite class society, the interaction session pointed out issues such as lack of time for exercise and improper time of food consumption due to busy life schedules. These issues faced by elite class people are easily rectifiable while the one faced by common layman living in my community is the one which needs strenuous efforts by introducing programs and policies that will allow easy access to resources good for the heart.
