luid pressure in a container is dependent on the ___________________. a. height of the fluid column only b. density and colour of the fluid c. height of the fluid column and the density of the fluid d. colour of the fluid only e. density of the fluid only
The two main factors that will influence the pressure of fluids in a container . They are the specific depth of the fluid in the container as well as its density. A fluid will also exert more pressure at an increased depths . When the depth increase the pressure of all the fluid above will also increase and will cause an increase in the fluid pressure .
Pressure at a specific Depth for the Fluid of Constant Density and ρ is the density and when this density increase the p that is the pressure will increase
p=p0+ρhg, Where p is the pressure of the fluid at a particular depth of the container as when depth increase the pressure will increase , p0 is the pressure of the atmosphere which is a constant , ρ is the density of the fluid and pressure will increase if this increase as pressure is directly proportional to the density of fluid, g is the acceleration due to gravity, and h is the depth as depth increase pressure increases and this will lead to and increase in pressure as both pressure and depth are directly proportional.
So option c is the correct answer
Option a is wrong as density also affects
Option b is wrong as colour does not increase pressure
Option d is wrong as colour of fluid is not having effect on pressure
Option e is wrong as height also affect it
