- nervous system

- embryo as a whole

- chorion

Cells/Groups of Cells to choose from:

- Embryonic ectoderm

- Extraembryonic mesoderm and extraembryonic endoderm

- Extraembryonic mesoderm and extraembryonic ectoderm

- Inner cell mass

- Extraembryonic mesoderm and trophoblast cells

Solutions

Expert Solution

Aromatase enzyme is found inside the feto-placental unit. It is an enzyme which converts testosterone into estradiol. This enzyme is present in the syncytiotrophoblast layer of placenta which is also called as Hormone factory of placenta

  1. Embryo is the earlier form of fetus. It has all the cells which are required for organogenesis, layers, etc. It is derived from inner cell mass.
  2. Nervous system is derived from the neuroectodermal tissue which is embryonic ectoderm.
  3. Chorion develops from the extraembryonic mesoderm and trophoblast surrounding it. It gives rise to chorionic villi which transfers the nutrients from maternal blood to fetus.
  4. Yolk sac extraembryonic mesoderm and extraembryonic endoderm. It acts as a source of stem cells and blood cells.
  5. Amnion develops from the extraembryonic mesoderm and extraembryonic ectoderm. It contains amniotic fluid which provide nutrients, act as shock absorber, etc.

Discuss the potential fates of transmembrane proteins and explain where you would expect to find a particular domain of a plasma membrane transmembrane protein based on where this domain was found when the protein was still present at the ER membrane Recall that some (but not most) proteins are brought to the ER lumen via posttranslational translocation. Discuss how this mechanism differs from cotranslational translocation.
