SYSTEM OF ENERGY MANAGEMENT IN SMART CITIES

The system of energy management in smart cities is a function of much complexity. Given the dynamic nature of the growing cities and the various stakeholders situated within city boundaries makes it essential to optimally utilize the energy needs of the smart cities. If we find it difficult to maintain our energy needs within the sub-optimal levels our own existence would be on risk.

1. For the Municipality of smart city more network creation and giving value added services must be applied for optimal utilization of energy needs. Moreover online problem solving tools and ordering of services of municipality must be given to the people.
2. Smart building approach by using sustainable building management which has integrated communication tools and building control systems such as, room automation system, optimized heating and air conditioning services under the building premises.
3. Better education institutes by providing virtual classes and exhibitions, better health care systems to be developed where citizens get better access to services and monitoring services to keep a check on their energy utilization. Further telemedicine monitoring, separate system for elderly and to provide adherence to rules and regulations are important part of the process.
4. Energy production and supply systems must be kept under check which include smart grid applications and optimized grid performance services.
5. Installing utility meters in consumer’s premises to keep check on meter, gas and water usage and the data provided in real time with a two way communication. There must be emphasis on wireless meters and systems for the consumers.
6. Intelligent sewer system for smart cities with flow management technology, where the local people, regulators and service providers are well connected in real time basis.
7. For public safety and security smart cameras needs to be installed to keep a check on dangers and surveillance system. In hazard prone areas pre-warning systems to be installed to keep a check and avoid disaster.

The basic aim of the smart city energy management system is to build the cities with technology and keep the energy needs at suboptimal levels. We can achieve this by building a management system which is superior, easy to deploy and work and the help of locals. Moreover with the advancing of technological areas we must not forget to re-develop our environment and ecology with the changing needs.
