Provide an example of institutional discrimination. Explain how this social problem became incorporated into social policies and practices. What are some possible solutions to alleviate or eliminate this social problem from policies and practices? Explain if you have seen the elimination of some institutional discrimination in your experience.

Institutional discrimination is unjust or discriminatory treatment provided to the people by the society, eg: In job selection criteria not accepting any individual who is from a particular race or religion. This is the social prblem itself, discriminating people on the basis of the colour, caste or origin, because we are stereotyped against such people. We have our own set ideas which is negative about these people. There were many reformist who brought this social problem into social practise such Marthin Luther, Harriet Stowe, Mark Twain, Abraham Lincon etc who understood that this is a problem and started people making aware that colour is not the criteria for . Harriet Stowe published many books with respect to slavery done with balcks.

There are many other eg. also such as in India, eve teasing was common problem in some parts of India which led to disasterous problems such as raping of women, women who returned from office, even small girls. So women protested on streets marching against mentality of men. Their chart had importance of women such as sister, a mother, a wife etc. Then a law was also made offering a seroius punishment for the person who raped, there was death sentence.
