What do you do poorly as a negotiator and  What is the underlying source of that weakness (e.g. personality trait, personal experience, etc.)?

Expert Solution

First part:

Being a negotiator have obtained a couple of work experience to negotiate with different people in the workplace and successfully driven the process of work. However, not all places have the exact ethical protocols to negotiate things structurally to obtain a better result. As a negotiator, it has resulted in poor dealings while negotiating with a doctor during a critical case of a closed one. It was obvious to perform poorly as a negotiator with a doctor who is treating a critical case for a longer time. The doctor is a genius in conducting treatment and the patient seems to show positive signs after long treatment.

However, the doctor is charging fees randomly for treatment, and negotiating in such areas may result to obtain negative results on treatment. Instead of knowing everything, a negotiator is performing poorly, so that no obstruction should come on treatment procedures and patients are recovered quickly. If negotiator begins with the actual process of negotiation then negative consequences may take place and that may result to affect the entire treatment procedures. These factors forcing to perform poorly as a negotiator, otherwise ineffective results are guaranteed. In this matter, it is forcibly bound to adopt real negotiation methods to avoid any absurd situation.

Second part:

The weakness has been obtained from personal experience and it is belonging to the healthcare issues. A close friend was undergoing the treatment and their family members have been forced to pay unexpected treatment bills. The family members met up with the doctor and the hospital authority to negotiating on taking genuine treatment charges. These have become a big issue and things went out of control. The family members threatened the hospital authorities to light-up such acts in media and public. Within a night, their patient with a stable condition passed away due to major cardiac arrest, and such acts of negotiation process have made things extremely uncontrollable.

Hence, it does not mean that a negotiator will not negotiate any matter due to personal experience, fear, or threats, wrong behavior, etc. The negotiation between the two parties can occur at any point for any type of situation, but it is to ensure the possible aftermath of negotiation and obviously the place or areas of negotiation. If the negotiation is for the purpose of salary at own workplace with the applicant then it is comfortable to allow all clauses of negotiation. The consequences are expected to come positive as a negotiator is holding a strong power in that workplace. However, for other things doing poorly as a negotiator may showcase weaknesses, but it may overcome complicated things that might arise for prompt negotiation in such sources.
