Introduction- Abraham Lincoln was the 16th president of United States of America. He was the leader of country during the most consequential period of American history. The American civil war was the mile stone for American society and Abraham Lincoln was the prominent leader of this era.
Role of Abraham Lincoln after civil war- Abraham Lincoln played a crucial role after American civil war to unite the country, he was a great leader as well as great reformer, and he ended up slavery system, support higher education and tried to unite all ethnic groups.
Lincoln’s Plan to restore the union-
1. Lincoln separated the power of congress and senate, it help the president it implement public laws easily.
2. Lincoln signed the Revenue Act 1861, creating the first income tax and this law help the government of be powerful after civil war.
3. The president Lincoln used development as the way to unite America so that he signed railway bill, education bill etc.
4. Lincoln solved the issues of Native American and make them the part of union as well as other ethnic group residing in the territory.
5. Congress approved many bills to change the present territory of union and added some states like Nevada, Colorado and Nebraska.
6. The president, made treaties with France and Britain to solve the internal problems because during the civil war, external influence made the situation worse.
