IT security:

IT security refers to the group of strategies in cybersecurity that help the organizations to prevent any kind of unauthorized access to sensitive assets such as data, network, nodes, etc. It is important for the integrity and privacy of the data from hackers.

There are many security tactics and tools used in different dimensions of IT security. Email, firewall, wireless, browser security, etc. are some of these. IT security is offered on different levels such as network, internet, and end-point. Security of the data is more important than anything else because it ensures that other aspects of data are maintained. Such as integrity, privacy, and confidentiality.

Aligning IT/IS strategy with business strategy:

Alignment in these two strategies is very important. IT security strategy usually refers to the information prioritizing and definition of documents. It deals with different aspects related to technology. Technology has a big role in business.

  • Business strategy is driven and controlled from a company's vision and mission. It also represents the values of the company. If it doesn't align with IT security strategies, there could be risk to the information and data.
  • Similarly if IT security strategies don't align with business strategies, business will not flourish over time. Hence, it is important to have alignment between both.
