B. Loss of both pressure sense and pain in the left foot.

  • Spinothalamic tract is an ascending pathway , which are two types .Anterior spinothalamic tract and lateral spinothalamic tract.
  • Anterior spinothalamic tract carries pressure and crude touch sensation , where as lateral spinothalamic tract carries pain and temperature sensation.
  • Spinothalamic tract decussate at the level of spinal cord , hence damage to spinal cord leads to loss of sensation of opposite side ( contralateral sensory loss).
  • Both pressure and pain are carried by spinothalamic tract , damage to right side of spinal cord leads to loss of sensation of both at Left side .
  • Option A is wrong because , due to decussation there will be contralateral sensory loss.
  • Option C and D are  wrong because both pressure and pain are carried by spinothalamic tract , hence if there is injury occur to spinothalamic tract both sensations will be lost.
