Ans:- Let the two products be Apple and Nike. There are various rukes of naming a product like:-

a). The product name should be easy to read and write. Based on this rule both Apple and Nike are good. As both can be easily read and written. However Apple has edge over Nike in terms of familiarity with name.

b). The product name should be memorable and it should create impact on consumer's mind. Here also Apple has edge over Nike.

c). There should be meaning in a product name. Apple has a meaning of a fruit while Nike has created an impact with it's punch line "just do it".

d). The brand name should convey an idea and evoke emotion. Apple creates emotion of a sweet fruit. Nike has simplicity in its brand image which can easily be recognized.

e). The story should evolve out of a brand name. Apple through it's communication wants to position it as aspirational brand. Nike has also positioned it as sports brand through it's communication.

f). The name should stand out in the crowd. Both Apple and Nike are unique names which stands out in the crowd.
