Choose a nonprofit organization that you think markets itself effectively. Why did you pick that organization? What external factors (think PEST analysis) do you think the organization should be most concerned about? Each student should select a different nonprofit.
The nonprofit organization selected
for the discussion is American Red Cross that offers disaster
relief programs, provide aids on humanitarian ground, helps victims
of the war and conflicts among the other help to the communities.
It is a nonprofit organization with wide reach and network that
operates on the basis of donations it receives from individuals as
well as institutional entities. For every dollar, it receives, 91
cent is spent on aids and remaining amount is used for its
operational expenses. American Red Cross is selected for the
discussion due to its growing importance in the general
environment, involvement of the USA in different conflicts in
different areas of the world and the trust people have developed
for this organization over the years.
The organization should be more concerned with the political
environment of the country as it makes an impact upon the
involvement of the military in different types of conflict and
number of victims or causalities that are to be served by the
organization. Besides, it is the political willingness to help
people during the natural disasters that decides the engagement
level of the organization. It can bring the increased level of work
burden to the organization without any federal help. Besides, the
another environment is economic environment. The changing trends
can make people not to donate the organization like American Red
Cross and limit the spending for a noble cause as an effect of
unemployment. As a result, the operational level of the American
Red Cross is inhibited. So, the organization cannot help people due
to the poor economic scenario. It creates a matter of concern for
the organization.
