Step 1-
Multiparty system-
In this system, multiple parties run for national elections across
the political spectrum and they have the ability to get control
over government offices, separately or in an alliance.
Step 2-
Pluralistic society-
Multiple groups hold power in this society that competes with each
other for controlling the decision making of organizations.
Step 3- Party in
power-
Party in power has control over the executive branch of government/
president/governor. It might be a democrat or republican
party.
Step 4- Minor
party-
This political party has a smaller role in the politics and
election of the country as compared to the role of a major
party.
Step 5- Split
ticket voting-
In this voting, votes of voters are spread among multiple parties
during an election. It is an alternative to the straight-ticket
voting. It takes [place when there is more than once office up for
election.
Step 6- One-party
system -
In this system, only one political party is allowed to make the
government on the basis of the existing constitution.
Step 7-
Consensus-
It is an agreement among different people which shows the opinion
of the majority.
Step 8- Splinter party -
It is a political party that is formed by the members of an
existing party that has different policies or views from the
majority.
Step 9- Single-member
district-
It is an electoral district like the legislature. It returns one
office holder to a body having multiple members.
Step 10- Two-party
system-
It is a system having two major political parties that dominates
the political landscape. At a point, one of these parties holds the
majority in the legislature and is known as governing or majority
party but the other one is said minority or opposition
party.
